    The Glassworks, subject to planning permission, will be a state of the art, glass-fronted riverside office building located in South Shields.

    It will provide 50,000 square foot of Grade A office accommodation and aims to be one of the first near-net carbon zero office building in the region, with outstanding sustainability ratings.

    The Glassworks will be constructed across five storeys with basement parking, a reception area offering meeting and event space, together with co-working areas and a coffee bar.

    The top floor will benefit from a roof terrace with panoramic views.


    The Glassworks site is located to the south of Harton Quays and west of Mill Dam and is in close proximity to:

    • South Shields town centre
    • The Market Square
    • The Word
    • The ferry landing
    • The new transport interchange

    This fantastic town centre location provides occupiers both superb amenities and excellent transport links.

    It offers spectacular panoramic views over the River Tyne and Harton Quays park, which stretches along the River Tyne from the South Shields ferry landing to the Customs House Theatre.

    Office space

    The ground floor accommodation consists of 8,675sqft (806sqm).

    This includes coworking, event and meeting areas and a café, along with two office suites of 1,894sqft (176sqm) and 2,152sqft (200sqm).

    Level 1, 2 and 3 provide 10,161sqft (946sqm).

    Level 4 provides 8,040sqft (747sqm) alongside a south west facing terrace which takes advantage of the amazing views of the River Tyne.

    Glassworks offers incredible flexibility and all of the upper floors can be divided into four suites from 2,109 sqft.

    The building will offer a Grade A office specification and first class connectivity, targeting a Wirescore Platinum rating.
