Consultiv Utilities, a utility management firm with more than 30 years' experience working with businesses of all kinds, has relocated its 70-strong workforce to a South Tyneside business park after a five-year lease was secured by the office agency team at Naylors Gavin Black.

The firm has taken up residence on the ground floor of Merchant House at Monkton Business Park South in Hebburn, from which it plans a recruitment drive to attract personnel in the areas of sales, administration, finance and IT over the coming months.

Following their acquisition of the building earlier this year, the 8,500 sq.ft. environmentally-friendly ground floor space has been fully modified by landlord Central Space to accommodate the needs of Consultiv Utilities.

Paul Smith, managing director of Consultiv Utilities, which has relocated from Bizspace, at Design Works in Gateshead explained: "We could not be happier with our new home and the staff are delighted to have such excellent facilities. The feedback has been overwhelming from our connections outside the business also.

"Having taken the decision to relocate, it was apparent that Central Space shared our belief of working with clients to assess their needs and tailor a bespoke solution to suit us.

"Marc Dixon and the Central Space team more than accommodated our needs and we cannot thank them enough for completely overhauling the office space to create our new home. It is the same ethos we share when dealing with our customers."

Chris Pearson, partner at Naylors Gavin Black added: "It's been a privilege to work with two forward-looking organisations that recognise the positive impact of having a fully bespoke, high-spec Grade A office space on staff wellbeing.

"This is even more crucial at the moment, and the design of Merchant House has allowed for the additional measures necessary due to Covid-19. We are very pleased to have been able to bring the building to full occupancy for our client."

Designed to meet the needs of the modern workforce, the layout of Merchant House allows maximum flexibility for open plan use or subdivision, with each floor ideally proportioned to flood the space with natural light.

Marc Dixon, director of Central Space added: "We are delighted to have created a modern, spacious working environment for Consultiv Utilities growing workforce with the central hub of the office being particularly impressive.

"In the current environment, we are experiencing high demand for quality, design-led office space and it is great to see a growing North East firm putting their staff's needs first by creating a fantastic place to work.

"We would also like to thank the existing tenants at Merchant House, Keepmoat Homes and Engie for their flexibility and understanding during the fit-out and Chris Pearson at Naylors Gavin Black for his hard work on our behalf."
