This month, the Advanced Manufacturing Forum (IAMP) host their first monthly meeting of 2019 which will focus on the development of the International Advanced Manufacturing Park, spanning Sunderland and South Tyneside.
The IAMP is a £400m nationally significant scheme which will build on the North East's reputation as a manufacturing centre, enhance its standing as an export champion and secure its position as a huib for new technologies.
Speaking at this meeting will be Tom Wheldon, Regional Development Manager at Henry Boot Developments and John Scott, Corporate Lead for Business Investment at South Tyneside Council.
Tom Wheldon, Henry Boot Developments
Having joined Henry Boot Developments in 2016 following roles with PwC and VALAD, Tom has extensive experience spanning development, asset management and strategic development. He also specialises in developing new opportunities, land acquisition, joint ventures and strategic land across the region.
Tom is currently responsible for several major projects, including the IAMP and the delivery of St Luke's, Huddersfield, a mixed-use development on a 23-acre former hospital site comprising retail, leisure and residential accommodation.
John Scott, South Tyneside Council
John is an economic development specialist with over 20 years' experience supporting and developing businesses in the North East.
John is currently working on the development of the IAMP, which will lead to the creation of 7,200 jobs located on a 150 hectare employment site.
A networking lunch will be followed by the presentation.
